Everything Hai Robo can do.
Your voice AI desk companion with expressive animated eyes. Most of it you say out loud: “Hai Robo” from across the room, or tap the face, then just ask. Some of it you tap, share or set once and forget. Works on iPhone alone. The dock and Mac companion are optional.
Try these first
New to Hai Robo? Say the wake word, then one of these. Everything is hands-free.
How to read this guide
Sign in with Apple or Google to start. Most features are voice: say “Hai Robo”, then the command shown in a bubble. Some you tap, share or switch on once. Those have no bubble, because there is nothing to say. Every card is tagged twice: how you use it, and what it needs.

Plugins New
Small apps that take over the robot’s face. Some are ours, some are written by other people, and one of those people can be you.
Missing a feature? Build it yourself.
Anything Hai Robo does not do yet, you can add. A plugin is an ordinary web page (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) that runs on the robot’s face and can speak through it, move its eyes, colour the dock lights, turn its head, and see where you are. No native code, no build step, nothing to install. If you can write a web page, you can write a plugin.
- Try it in your browser. The simulator runs your plugin against a 3D robot, so you can build the whole thing before you touch a device.
- Run it on your own robot. Upload the folder and it becomes a private draft only you can see, to try on your actual Hai Robo.
- Share it, if you want to. Submit for review, and once a person has read it, it goes in the gallery for everyone.
Keeping it to yourself is fine. A draft you never submit stays private to your account.
What a plugin isTapIncluded
Plugins are small apps that run on the robot’s face. Some are ours, some are written by other people. You browse them in the app, install the ones you want, and they take over the eyes while they run. When a plugin closes, Hai Robo goes back to being itself.
There is no spoken phrase to install or launch a plugin. You browse and tap.
You approve what a plugin can do, before it installsTapIncluded
Installing a plugin shows you a list of exactly what it is asking for, headed THIS PLUGIN WANTS TO, with the plugin’s name and author above it. Nothing is granted until you choose Allow and install. The other button is Don’t install.
The sensitive requests are listed first, so that being listened to is never buried under “can change the lights”.
Plugins run in a sandbox. They can’t read your files, your other plugins, or anything you haven’t allowed here. Hai Robo resets itself when a plugin closes.
What a plugin can ask forTapIncluded
Eight permissions. This is the wording you will see on the install screen:
- Speak
- Hai Robo will speak text this plugin provides.
- Move the eyes
- The plugin can point the eyes and set expressions.
- Change the dock lights
- The plugin can change the ring colour while it runs.
- Move the robot
- The plugin can turn the head. Movement stays within safe limits.
- Use the camera
- The plugin receives hand and face POSITIONS only, never the picture itself.
- Read weather
- The plugin can read the current weather. It has no internet access of its own.
- Ask the assistant
- The plugin can ask Hai Robo’s assistant questions and read the answers. What it asks (including anything you say to it) is sent to Hai Robo, exactly as your normal conversations are, and counts against your daily limit. The plugin’s author never sees any of it.
- Listen to you
- The plugin can ask Hai Robo to listen, and receives what you SAID as text, never the recording. It cannot listen without you seeing the listening indicator.
What a plugin can never reachAutomaticIncluded
A plugin has no internet connection of its own. It cannot read your files, your other plugins, your saved places, your chat history, or anything you have not granted on the install screen.
Camera permission gives it the positions of hands and faces, never the picture. Microphone permission gives it what you said, as text, never the recording, and never without the listening indicator visible.
These are properties of how plugins are run, not promises about how a particular plugin behaves.
Removing a pluginTapIncluded
Remove any plugin from the app. You are asked to confirm with “Remove this plugin?”, and it goes along with anything it stored.
A plugin can also be blocked centrally if it is found to be misbehaving, in which case it stops running on every device without you doing anything.
Hardware, account & plan
Optional accessories, your plan, and how your data follows your account.
The robot dockNeeds dock
Sold separately. Everything else works on the phone alone. With the dock, Hai Robo physically turns to face you.
Look at me, or a family member. The dock turns to find and greet you or someone you have enrolled.
Follow me. Keeps its gaze on your face as you move around. Say “stop” to end it.
Rotate and nudge by voice. Flip orientation or make small timed moves.
It wakes up when you dock it. Put the phone on the dock and the robot wakes: the eyes open, it greets you, the head lifts to face you and it centers on you. It levels itself too. Nothing to press.
Expressive motion. Gentle nods and head-tilts while it talks and thinks, with a little smile-wiggle when it spots you.
- Motorized base: pan, tilt, and lift, with face tracking.
- Expressive LED rings that match the mood.
- Dance mode and manual controls.
Mac companionNeeds Mac app
Pair the Hai Robo Mac app to add screen-aware help.
- Ask about your screen and get design suggestions.
- Hands-free pointer: move the Mac cursor with hand gestures.
- Wellness reminders based on time at the screen.
Account & privacyIncluded
Sign in with Apple or Google to use Hai Robo. Your account powers the AI and syncs your memory and saved items across devices.
Face tracking, face recognition and reading text run on your device. Nothing from the camera is uploaded unless you start a feedback session. Health, contacts, calendar and face data never leave the phone. Listening for “Hai Robo” uses your phone’s built-in speech recognition, which may run on the device or on Apple’s or Google’s servers. You can export or delete your data, and delete your account, anytime. See the full Privacy Policy.
Usage panel. Settings shows your daily usage across features, so you can see what you reach for most.
Hai Robo PlusSettingsIncluded
Hai Robo is free to use. Plus raises the daily limits: conversations, camera questions, translations, web searches and image generation. Everything else is the same: same robot, same features.
The current limits and prices are shown in the app before you subscribe, and you can change or cancel a plan from Settings at any time.
Your things belong to your account, not the phoneSettingsIncluded
Sign in as someone else and the app starts clean. Your saved places, orders, ideas, chat history and settings stay with your account and come back when you sign back in.
Switch account in Settings hands the robot to someone else without handing over your things.
Home screen widgetsTapIncluded
Two widgets you can add from the iOS home screen. Today’s spending: how much you’ve logged today. Pomodoro: your current focus session.
The focus one counts down live and appears in the Dynamic Island while a session runs.
Bring Hai Robo to your desk.
Live on the App Store. The motorized dock is on preorder.
